Well, here we are: the final piece of work 'from the vault'. On Monday, I finally get to take the top off my 'top secret' project that I've been referring to for what seems like a decade now and you get to see some of what I've been working on while I've had to post all these older pieces of work on the blog to fill space and kill time. I hope the trip through the vault has been an interesting one for you; it certainly has been for me. I am glad that it's finally come to an end, though, and I can get back to what this blog was originally intended for: showing you my work as I work on it.
I decided that the final piece of work from the vault to end the tour had to be something pretty special, so I went digging. What emerged was this: a drawing I did at junior school when I was only eight years old! Talk about from the depths of the vault! As far as I'm aware, this is the oldest surviving piece of my artwork that still exists. It's a pencil drawing of a pair of trainers on top of a table. I can still remember my teachers being impressed because I was the only kid in the class who didn't just draw the shoes, but everything else on the desk as well... including some of the other kids' drawings. I've always seen and approached things differently, though... even at the tender age of eight! Anyway, let's finish off the tour with this piece of ancient history. I hope you get as much of a kick out of it as I do:
Coming next on this blog: Well... that would be telling wouldn't it? See you Monday, people...
