From the vault: Hot June Afternoon

Ever have one of those days when you just can't seem to wake up? When the cobwebs in your head refuse to be dislodged and you spend the day wandering around in a trance-like state?
Maybe it's just me, but I've been having one of those days today. In an attempt to wake myself up, I've spent most of the day in the great outdoors on a couple of very long walks in the wind and the drizzle. This has met with limited success but at least it's good exercise (and I could certainly do with it)! A side-effect of this is that I haven't done any artwork today... Oops!
To make up for it, I'll share this piece from the vault with you. To try and dispell the dismal weather outside, this is a painting I did in acrylics a couple of years ago called 'Hot June Afternoon', because I painted it on... well, a hot, hune afternoon. My work's extremely cryptic, isn't it?
The idea behind this one was to try and create a feeling of heat with colours that are traditionally seen as cold. You can judge for yourself how successful I was, but I've always been quite pleased with this piece.
